I am so glad that spring is nearly here. It means better weather, longer daylight hours and baseball. For the people who have been stuck in the house all winter, this is the perfect time for you to take a vacation. In today’s post, I want to share with you ten awesome spring vacation destinations. After four nor’easters, I know my east coast readers can’t wait to get out of town.

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is one of my favorite cities in the country. There are always things to do there. A few events that you can check out this spring are The National Cherry Blossom Festival, DC Jazz Festival, Filmfest DC, and a Washington Nationals baseball game.

Orlando, FL

Orlando is the home of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks. Spring is a busy time because college kids take over the area for spring break and high schoolers come down for grad night. Orlando is still worth visiting, though. A few events to consider are The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, Florida Film Festival, and Mardi Gras at Universal Studios.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

San Juan is Puerto Rico’s capital city. It is also the most popular destination in PR. Some events that occur during the spring are the Puerto Rico Comic Con, Puerto Rico Restaurant Week, and Saborea Puerto Rico.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro is the 2nd most populated city in Brazil. The weather there is typically pleasant year-round with an average high of 81 degrees. A few events worth checking are The Rio Circuit, The Rio Boat Show, and Victory Day.

London, England

London is the capital of England. This is one of the top cities that I would like to visit. From what I’ve been reading, there is always something to do over there. Circus Fest, The London Marathon, and the London Coffee Festival are a few events that happen in the spring.

Vancouver, BC, Canada

Vancouver is a city in British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the most diverse cities in Canada. A few events worth checking out are the International Children’s Festival, The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, and The Vancouver Craft Beer Week.

Louisville, Kentucky

Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky. It’s on my list of places to visit. They have several events going on during the spring such as The Kentucky Derby Festival, The Kentucky Reggae Festival, and The Kentucky Derby.

San Francisco, CA

San Francisco is one of the largest cities in northern California. The Macy’s Flower Show, The San Francisco Green Film Fest, The Union Street Festival and San Francisco Giants baseball are a few of the things that are happening in the spring.

Kauai, Hawaii

Kauai is the fourth largest Hawaiian Island. Tourism is its largest industry. Some events to check out are The Earth Day Rising Festival and The Annual Taste of Hawaii.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana is a very popular tourist destination in the Dominican Republic. The weather there is tropical. The Punta Cana Food and Wine Fest is a good event to check out.

To learn more about these awesome spring vacation destinations you can check out TripAdvisor. You can find reviews and lists of other things to do. I know that some of those places are a little more expensive than others. If you’re booking a flight, I would start out by checking the prices on or Google Flights. Doing that will allow you to compare the different flight prices for each airline.

Below are some travel resources that I highly recommend.

If you want to save money on your lodging, check out Airbnb. I booked rooms with them in Cuba and Miami. The places were nice and I saved money. If you are interested in trying out Airbnb for the first time, check out my link here. New users get $40 off their first stay of $75 or more.

I’ve been using Priceline since I was in college. This is one of my go-to websites when it comes to travel. They have a lot of hotel deals on their site. You can get Express Deals or if you live on the wild side, you can Name Your Own Price.

Check out my Priceline review!

Expedia is a travel company that allows you to review and book trips on their website. You can get info on hotels, cars, destinations and more.

Uber/Lyft

I don’t know the last time I booked a car for a trip. I use Uber and Lyft when I’m out of town. You can save money doing that because you don’t have to worry about rental fees, trying to find places to park and gas.

Do you have any spring trips planned? If so, where?
